EARTHDANCE SYDNEY 2010 CAMPOUT
25 -26 September 2010
Secret Location
(Hunter Valley)
The Earthdance Sydney Campout returns in 2010 at a beautiful new venue closer to Sydney with a lineup stacked with international and local talent. In 2010 expect a playful mood and a mix of styles that will keep you moovin and groovin throughout the weekend. Enjoy
performers,
drinks,
food,
lounges,
heaters and
quality tunes in an atmospheric setting of
freaky sexy fun.
The annual global party for peace boasts a suitably all-encompassing array of DJs, lead by Japanese
Kompakt kingpin
Kaito (live) along with fellow Kompakter and
Platzhirsch Schallplatte Records’ main man
Tobias Becker. Also new to Sydney is feisty Portuguese poster boy
Tiago Oudman (The Bastards, Tonkind), a regular at
Berlin institutions
Bar 25 and
Golden Gate. Two main stages will showcase a range of
Techno-House-Minimal-Progressive and
Psytrance while a third ‘
Renegade Dub Shack’ courtesy of the
Sunday Dub Club crew features a
cinema,
beverages, and a Dub and World music area to unwind in.
The event
starts midday on Saturday 25 September and goes until 5pm Sunday 26 September and then some. We urge you to arrive promptly on Saturday. By sunset (6pm) we will be rocking with the
Franchi Bros who will be smashing out a special sunset show incorporating a theatrical stage performance with the very best of Techno/Minimal beats immediately followed by a truly stellar live show by Kompakt’s
Kaito. Contemporaneously old-school Psytrancers meet up with the new as some of Sydney’s trance pioneers get together with DJs from the central coast to deliver a truly smashing night of mayhem, followed by a resolute morning of full-on that will venture off into the realms of progressive and Techno as the Sunday forges ahead.
The 2010 Earthdance Campout will be held 160km,
2hrs away (much closer than last year) near the
Hunter Valley and will be an intimate get together for friends, crew, and like-minded people. Everyone is strongly encouraged to
donate $50 upon arrival. As always, Earthdance will be about enjoyment with a philanthropic twist, and all of any profit raised will be donated to help
regenerate forests in the area. Those of you who wish to stay on Sunday night can do so – many people will camp right through the weekend relaxing, listening to music through until Sunday evening and then some. You are more than welcome to spend the whole weekend away from the city.
This year Earthdance is supporting a weeklong observation of peace starting on the traditional Earthdance Day and culminating in the
One Peace Jerusalem event’s ‘
Prayer For Peace’(
http://www.onepeacejerusalem.org), which will be observed on Sunday afternoon. The prayer of peace will signal the conclusion of a global initiative towards eight days of peace and affirm the basic human truth that we all wish to live in peaceful and safe world.
Glaswegian techno dons
Slam described last year’s Earthdance Campout as “
a summer camp gone wrong. I say wrong of course in the most endearing way possible.” If you weren’t in attendance ask someone who was, as Earthdance is a rare chance to experience top-echelon electronic music in a truly beautiful, relaxed and natural setting.
BRING: camping equipment, some snacks, drinks, chairs, torches, dancing shoes, donation, an open mind and a fun lovin’ disposition.
